RATES PAID IN HAY
The Town Council of Merthyr Tydlil, Glamorganshire, has accepted, as n7i “exceptional transaction,” a rick of hay, valued at £35, from a local farmer in part-payment of arrears of rates. The hay was required for the corporation’s horses, and therefore the exception was made.
