£.IOOO AVAILABLE FOB NAITER. MINISTER MAKES ANNOUNCEMENT. The Minister of Labour, the Hon. S. G. Smith, informed the Napier Unemolovinent Committee t' at £SOOO will bo made available immediately by the Unemployment Board to provide work for the Napier unemployed. The money will be forthcoming at the rate of £IOOO weekly and work will be found by local bodies. 'The Prime Minister has written the Napier Borough Council approving the suggestion that' a commission assume control of civic affairs and explaining the steps necessary for the council to delegate its powers. In addition emergency legislation will be necessary to confer full powers on the commission-
