SPEEDING PLANE CRASHES
MOCK WARFARE TRAGEDY. TWO AUSTRALIAN'S .KILLED. Two Air Force airmen were burned to death wlion a Wapiti aeroplane cooperating with military forces in mock warfare struck a tree at the Seymour military camp, 'Victoria, and crashed in tiames. Tire victims were Idiot Officer H. G. Scoullar and Aircraftsman .1. F, Vourn. ‘The disaster occurred within full view of hundreds of volunteer trainin'; troop,-. The aeroplane was in the net of divine- in order to homh a Lewis gun antiaircraft brigade. Its speed was ISO miles an hour. It swooped down from •300 feet, failed to rise, and struck three gum trees with terrible force. The machine literally flew to pieces and the fuselage containing the men fell in flames. Is was impossible (o rescue the victims.
