XMAS GIFTS

A WONDERFUL COLLECTION. AT D. ROOT*' CENTRAL STORES. At the invitation of Air. D. Roots a representative of the “Press” visited the Central Stores. On entering the establishment one is struck with the business-like air that pervades, and the assistants take no end of trouble to see that the customers are expeditiously attended to. The air of Xmas was evident everywhere, and ranged on the shelves and tables were all manner of gifts suitable for all classes and all ages. How difficult is the task of selecting suitable presents for the festive season we all know, but when one sees the wide range at this store the task is quite simple. Air. Roots has given much thought in his ordering, and as he has bought in large quantities he can retail the goods at really cheap ■prices. Among the goods displayed we noticed the following: — FOR THE YOUNG LADY. Alirrors. Combs. Handbags. Brushes. Fancy Boxes of Stationery. FOR THE YOUNG ALVN. Pipes. Boxes of Cigarettes. Racquets. iOR THE TODDLER. Balloons. Fancy Plates. Xmas stockings. FOR THE HUSBAND. Razors. Strops. Easy Chairs. Pipes. FOR THE WIFE. .

pialad Bowls. V a-SOS. Fancy Cup? anti Saucers. Ornaments of every description. Tea sots, Goifoc Pots. Aluminium Ware. Handbags. Pyrox Ware, Stainless Cutlery, and other lines too numerous to mention.
