THE IDEAL GUEST.
She’s gracious and sweet, but she doesn’t ‘‘gusli, - ’’ nor docs she essay to exploit the privileges of an intimate friend in manner maladroit. She doesn’t interpret too literally the reference to ‘‘Bibeity Hail;” nor impinge so closely on family life that her .presence is apt to pall. She has the knack of standing 'by or effacing herself at need. Hostessship knows never an irk, so line is her social creed. She has “a way ” with the other guests —yet she takes a most subtle care that her hostess never is outshone by her unobsirusive Hair. Her’s is the triumph over self so few of us .can attain. She is, in a word, the ideal guest, who is always asked again.
