ASHBURTON GIRL ASPIRANT. Miss Lily Copplcstone, a well-known distance swimmer, announces licr intention of making an attempt to swim Cook Strait during (lie forthcoming season. The start will he made from the lop of Queen Charlotte Sound. MISS GLEITZE LEAVES ENGLAND NEXT MONTH. Miss Mercedes' Glcit/.e, the English swimmer who is to swim Cook .Strait, hopes to sail on the Corinthic on December 7.
