LIFEBOAT TRAGEDY.
GALLANT CREW DROWNED. 16 LOST IN A WILD SEA. The lifeboat at Rye, Sussex, was swamped while returning from an attempt to succour a Latvian steamer. Sixteen of the crew were drowned, including the coxwaiu, Head, and his two sons, four of a family' named Deutting, and four of a family- named Pope.
