JACK HOLT AND DICK TALMADGE SHOWING SATURDAY. “The Prince of Pep” is a typical Talmadge melodrama with more than the usual quota of laughs and thrills. “Typically Talmadge” is synonymous with uproarious screen entertainment, and the agile Richard richochctte.s from one situation to another in even more amusing fashion than is his wont. The screen version of the excitingstory by James Bell Smith, gives the star plenty of opportunity to prove that he is one of the loading comedians of the film industry, as well as its premier stunt man. “The Warning” is a powerful picturisation of the British “silent service” at work in the underground dens of China. It is red-blooded drama, full of action and tense situations, filmed against the subtle atmosphere of the Orient, with its mysterious brotherhoods and curious temples undermined with secret passages and torture chambers. Jack Holt has a two-listed role, in while ho literally fights his way into the hearts of his audience and wins the love of the heroine. The big picture “Bon Hur” will be screened to-night.
