POT POURRI CLUB CONCERT

A BRILLIANT SUCCESS. A brilliant success very aptly describes the entertainment given by the members of the Patea Pot Pourri Club on Friday night in aid of the funds of the Whenuakura Hall Society. The whole of the items were charmingly rendered, and every one of them would have done credit to any of the large centres. Misses Haswoll and M. Hauler ton, the organisers of ©the entertainment, are deserving of the thanks of the community for tho energy and cnteiprise displayed in arranging and carrying through so varied and charming a programme. We have no doubt that each and every one of those pre,>s<ut on Friday night will look eagerly forward to the next effort capable and talented band. Special thanks are due also to the orchestra, consisting of Mrs. A. A. Carey (piano), Mrs. Thomson, Miss W. E. Hemingway, and Mr. Harrc (violins), Mr. D. Nicholls (flute), a‘nd Mr. E. Reed (cornet)., the latter, in particular, being a tower of strength. Too much praise cannot be ghen to thb accompaniste (Miss Jean Shcild, A.T.C.L.), who played tho accompaniments to perfection. The whole of the items of tho programme were earned out so well that it would be invidious to mention any particular artiste. Suffice it to say that everyone did their best, and thoroughly deserved the encores that wore demanded in each and every ease.
