AMATEUR ATHLETICS

WEDNESDAY RUN. There was an excellent muster of runners on Wednesday at the local Domain, no loss than 19 competing in the 220yds handicap. Among the competitors was L. Bourko, the well-known Taranaki representative footballer, ..ho made his. first appearance as a runner on the Domain, and gave the Onlookers a taste of his quality by running through the field from the scratch mark, and winning comfortably, eraser also put up a magnificent run in the 600yds race, putting on the pace from the start, and catching the limit man before he had gone half the distance, finishing strongly. The time, which must have been excellent, was unfortunately not taken. The following are the results; —

600 YARDS HANDICAP, Fraser, 12yds 1 O ’Grady, 25yds * 2 Adams, 50yds 3 220 YAEDS HANDICAP. Bourke, 7yds 1 Stone, 20yds 2 O ’Grady, 9yds ...,K ..... 3 CUP POINTS. The following is the position of the unners in the cup points:— O ’Grady 9 Fraser 6 a Corbett ....' 6 Adams 4 Cousins Hi Bourke ....’ 3 Stone 3 Torrens 1
