PERSONAL.
Mr. and Mrs. Delargey and family have returned from their annual vacation.
Mr. D. Mackay, head teacher at the Mataroa School, was successful in passing the second B.A. Degree Examination in Philosophy recently.
tCapt. Ward and Lieut. Blick, officers of the local Salvation Army Corps, have received notice of transfer to Taihape. They will be succeeded in Patea by Capt. Lasky and Lieut. Anderson, both of Taihape.
Two members of the local Amateur Athletic Association (Messrs. G.' Eraser and J. Jackson) intend competing at the sports meetings to be held shortly at the following places: Turakina, Taihape, Hunterville, Wanganui, and Hawera.
Mr. W. E. Hird, M.A., of Taihape, and a companion, set out recently on a walking tour. They intend to make Moawhango the first stage, and then proceed to Kuripaponga. The next stage will be Hastings, and then it is the present intention of Mr. Hird and his companion to walk to Taupo from Hastings and return to Taihape via Tokaano and Waioru.
