A member of one of the pioneering .arailies of Taranaki died at New Plymouth on Friday morning, in the person if hlrs Anne Flight Kelly, aged 85, widow of the late Mr John Kelly, whose oath occurred about eight years ago Mrs Kelly was a daughter of the late Mrs Josiah Flight, who was Ecsidcnt .Magistralc at New Plymouth for many ..’ears. The family came to New Plymouth in February, 1842, in the 'TimanIra. Mr Flight's home at Mangaoraka .vas among those which were occupied >y Natives in 1852, and the rightful ccupanis driven into town. After this Mr Flight was on a farm at Mangorei rutil removing to Now Plymouth, on uis > appointment -■ to the Magistracy. The late Mrs Kelly married in 186(5, md with her husband lived at Lepperton for over 30 years. Then a few ■more years were spent on farms at Bell Block and Awakino, before they retired to New Plymouth. The late Mrs Kelly is survived by a sister, Miss Flight, of Now Plymouth, and three sons and six daughters, they being Messrs W. F. and H. J. Kelly (Awakino), J. Kelly (County Engineer, Hokianga), Mrs F. 11. Watson (Now Plymouth), Miss Kelly (Matron, Patca Hospital), Mrs W. J. Bowman (Marton), Mrs F. H. Kearne (Whangaroi), Mrs T. Davis (Waverley), Mrs B. E. Haverbier (Hamilton).
