WAVERLEY FARMERS' UNION.

The Chairman said the meeting had been called to consider tho question of sending delegates to Palmcrston North to attend a conference to be held on August 7th to discuss the Provincial Organiser's itinerary for organising tho Branches in view of forming sub-provincial districts. Mr. Howie pointed out that Mr. Cooper intended to form new branches with Wanganni r. 3 a sub-centre, where all the branches up this way ;ould meet, and then a delegate could represent the whole district, at the conference ; but the main thing was to organise and have unity. - Mr. Elmslie pointed out that the organising should have been done be-

fore, and instead of having one branch at Wavcrlcy there should have been nearly a dozen. If each district had a branch and sent a dolegato they rt-ould have a chance of doing something. Mr. Dickie moved that Messrs Howie, H. Middloton, E. Parsons and the Chairman be tho delegates to attend the conference at Palmcrston North. Secondod by Mr. Symes and carriod. The Chairman, in a brief speech, congratulated Mr. Howie on his reappointment to the Executive of the Union.

The Chairman said there -Tls another matter that should bo gone into, and that was a .room to hold their meetings in. They could not depend upon the Town Board's room as there were other meetings held in the room and that day the auditor was using it. Mr. Muir had offered them any of the three rooms where they were at present. He thought they should have a permanent place to meet in. After considerable discussion Mr. Parsons moved that Mr. F. Johnston endeavour to obtain tho use of a room suitable to hold their meotings in.
