KAKARAMEA.
VALEDICTORYMr and Mrs Frew and Family. On Monday evening Mr aud Mrs R. Frew and family were furewelled by their Kakaramea and Patea friends on the eve of their departure for Te Kuiti. The guests and their friends were entertained at a dinner given by Mr and Mrs Ganr, of the Kakaramea Hotel. Daring the evening Mr Frew was presented with a handsome travelling bag, suitably engraved, and a set of gold sleeve links. Th° Hrgi and rr > prf , B n nt , st ; ve testified to the esteem iu which tue departing family are held in this district and the several speakers referred eloquently to the kindly hospitality of Mr and Mrs Fraw, and to '.ho loss the district will sustain in the departure of the Frew family. Mr Frew's good work in promoting and assisting all classes of legitimate sport, his work in connection with the Wairoa Football Union, and the Bervices he had rendered in connection with horse events at local sports and shows, were referred to in grateful terms, and in this respect Mr Frew's departure will leave a vacancy that will be hard to fill. Mr and Mrs Frew and family left by Tuesday's mail train for their new home at Te Kuiti,
