THE RAWHITIROA BLOCK.
TO THE EDITOR. Slß,—-I read your footnote to my letter re above block. It seems to me you cannot be aware of the situation of the block. Are you aware that,it ia situated on the east side of the Waitotara Eiver ? also that the eastern boundary of the block is less than 10 miles from Pipiiiki jg on the "Wanganui Eiver ? As I said in ' my last letter, or very near it, are you aware that the block adjoins the property of Mr Yan Asch, who drives his buggy down the road ? Ask Mr Yan Asoh what he thinks of a possible road via Hurleyville to this block. I should like to bear the opinion of the practical men who you say have been over this block, and who you say state that the best and most direct is from Hurleyville. All I can say is that they must either have gone in balloons or taken too much whiskey with them, and forgotten where they bad gone. The bloc): was surveyed, cut up icto sections as small grazing runs, and offered for lease at one penny three-farthing an acre, •with a dray road almost to it. Owing to its rugged nature, however, no one would touch it, and the whole block was gazetted a Forest Eeserve under the State - Forest Act. These arc facts that cannot T be gainsaid, and it is no use trying to got behind them.—lam, etc., F. P. Fookbs. Waver!ey, Sept. 30th, 1902.
