Girls—E. Mercer, I. Potto, W. Dickson, O. Williams, M, Ehodes, J. Mercer, B. Gleatworth, A. Stemp, B. Jardine, E. Thompson and N. Carey. Of tlie Preparatory Classes the Inspectors say;—■ Upper Division. Eeading good. The majority read very well; a few, however, showed much difficulty in knowing the words of the lessons. Spelling —The functions of consonants was well known; of vowels moderately known. Tables —Addition and Multiplication were excellent. Writing —Good. Arithmetic —Excellent. Little sums in addition and multiplication were very accurately worked. Lower Division, Eocitation—- Excellent. Singing^—Good. Object lessons—Moderate, The style of giving answer's was poor; the pupils should be trained to give their answers in statements. Order, etc., only moderate. Of the class subjects throughout the school the report says : —GrammarStandard 111, good; IY, shocking; V, bad; YI, poor. History—Standard 111, moderate; I\ to VI, very poor. Ge- 'graphy—Fair. Elementary science, Object lessons, etc., —Standard I very poor ; II and HI, very fair; IV to VI, good. Mental arithmetic.—Standard I, very good ; 11. good ; 111, poor; IV, bad; V, very fair ; VI, moderate. Of “additional” subjects the report says;—Eepetition and Eecitation—Standard I, excellent; 11, very good; 111 and IV good ; V and VI, excellent. Discipline —Moderate. Singing—Very good. Needle work—Good. Comprehension of the language of reading lessons —Poor to bad throughout.
