PATEA SCHOOL COMMITTEE.

The ordinary meeting of the above committee was held in the Borough } Chambers on Monday evening when there were present—Messrs It. A. Adams, W. Brown, P. S. Gilligau, and T. E. Hamerton. In the absence of the Eev. C. 0. Harper Mr Adams was elected chairman. Minutes of former meeting read and confirmed. Correspondence to date read; outwards as authorised at last meeting, inwards from Secretary Education Board, notifying committee that Mr Harre, relieving officer of the Board, had been appointed to ' the charge of the Patea School during the absence of Mr W. Adams ; from ! The Inspector of Schools notifying that , annual examination of the Patea School I would be held on Monday and Tuesday, ) October 12th and loth; from

Mr Harre, reporting having taken over the School from the 28th September. Accounts amounting to To Gs od were passed for payment. Some discussion took place as to the purchase of prizes and it was resolved on the motion of Mr T. E. Hamerton “ That the Chairman and Messrs Adams and Gilligan bo a committee to select and purchase the prizes for distribution to the scholars. It was resolved that Mr R, A. Adams sign all necessary chcqaes during the absence of the chairman. I It was also resolved “ That it he a reI commendation to the headteacher to grant the usual Inspector’s holiday on Wednesday next. The committee thou adjourned.
