THE DEAN CASE.

Sydney, Oct. 7.

Owing to the holiday no further development in the Dean case is reported. The preliminary hearing of the charge against Meagher, Crick and Dean begins on Thursday. Sydney, Oct. 8.

In the Legislative Assembly, Crick read a confession by Meagher. The latter confirms his statement to Salomons, and exonerates Crick from any knowledge of his guilt. Meagher has resigned his seat, and expresses an intention to leave the country when he has made reparation to the law. He demands that Dean should be arrested for perjury.
