I’ve a Bible at home that I very dearly prize, It brings to my mind thoughts to-day, Of a time long ago when I took a fond farewell, Of my childhood’s happy homo faraway. Yes, it brings me back the memory of the blissful days of yore, And the loved ones far across the sea, To the quiet huipble cottage where we all used to meet, ’Tis the Bible my mother gave to me. Many books I have read, but I never never found, One that could at all compare with mine ; Every page is to mo a mine of wealth untold, Every verse shines with love and truth Divine.
