A CORRECTION.

TO THE EDITOR OF PATEA COUNTY PRESS. Dear Sir, —Will you be kind enough to allow me, through your columns, to correct a statement which is gaining cur* reucy, to the effect that I refused to give my captain’s name to the constable when called upon and asked for it. What I did say was that I was not quite sure of the initials of the captain’s Christian names; but I even spelt the captain’s surname to the constable.—l am, etc., T. J. Mathers, Lieutenant, S.A, Patea, 30th July, 1895.
