—* — GOVERNMENT OFFER A REWARD. Brisbane, July 24. A telegram from Barcaldine says a man named Thomas was poisoned at Bowen Downs, and died in fearful agony. The Government offer a reward of £2OO for information that will lead to the conviotion of the perpetrators of the crime and the owners of the station supplement this amount with £SOO. The post mortem examination revealed the presence of poison in Thomas’ stomach. From Hughenden comes word that a shearer died suddenly, and that a number of others are ill. A posse of police have been despatched.
