RULES. : No entry will be received for any races except upon this condition : that all disputes, claims, and objections arising out of the racing shall be decided by'a majority of the Stewards present, or those whom they may appoint. Their decisions upon all points connected with the carrying out of this programme shall be final. All entries to be sealed and addressed to the Hon. Secretary, Hawera, {entrance money enclosed, with the na'm‘e ? age at time of entry, pedigree; and,-in case of handicaps, performance of horse, name of the owner, and colours of the rider,. Any jockey riding,except in the colours entered will be fined 3 sovs, “ Post Marks will not be received in “ future under any pretence whatever ; “ and nominations unpaid at the time of “the due date of weights will jbe struck “out of the list.” When two or more horses start, the property of one owner, a distinguishing color must be. worn. Any person neglecting or refusing to comply with this rule shall pay a fine of 2 sovs to the race fund. All races to be run under Wanganui Jockey Club Rules. Horses walking over will only receive half the stakes. . Qualification fee for non-members rersiding in the Hawera County, to be £2 ; those residing outside of the County, free. No other nominations will be received tinder any pretence whatever after the time specified for closing. All persons intending to withdraw horses are required, to give notice to that effect to the Secretary or Clerk of the Scales one half-hour before starting. Any person neglecting or refusing to comply with this rule shall pay a fine,of 5 soys to the race fund. In all races the second horse only saves his stakes when it is specially mentioned. Nominations for the Handicap Hurdles, Flying Handicap, Egmont Handicap, and District Race Handicap, will close at the Hoh. Secretary’s Office, Hawera, on Saturday, 7th February, at 9 p.ra. Weights will bo declared on Tuesday, 17th February. Acceptances and General Entries will close on Wednesday, 4th March, at the-Hon. Secretary’s Office, Hawera, at 9 p.m. I R. H. NOLAN, Hon. Sec.
