Weather forecast for 24 hours from 9 a.in. to-day :—Wind—between north-west and south-west at all places north of Napier and New Plymouth, and between south-west and south-east at • all other places. Barometer—further rise at all stations. Sea—Very heavy on both coasts. Warnings sent yesterday hold good everywhere. Synopsis of last 24 hours : There was a further fall of tiie barometer in all parts of the country, but it commenced to rise generally between 8 o’clock and midnight, and continued to rise slowly everywhere, Hard north-west gales changing westward have been experienced at most places north ‘ of Kaikoura and iVestporl, and strong south west gales on the east coast between Lyttelton and the Bluff. Heavy rain'has fallen generally.
