NIGHTLY STOCK REPORT

I have no improvement in values to report since,my last. The demand for all descriptions of stock is, as limited as it was last month, business being restricted to actual requirements. At Waverley I placed all that came forward, and at Hawera all were sold excepting two-pens, the prices in every case ruling in favour of 'the buyers. No cattle were sold at the yards to-day, the beef being of only medium quality. Sheep were a shade better worth, with a limited supply. Cattle— At Waverley 300 head were sold : Fat cows, £3 10s to £4 125.6 d ; steers,.£3 ; cows and calves, £3 to £3 15s ; mixed £2 Is ; heifers, £2 15s ; calves, I .£l Is to £1 ss: At Hawera 219 head -came forward-: 2 and 3-year-old steers, £4 7s 6d ; 2-year-olds, £3 to '£3 2s 6d ; cows/£2 ; calves/275.-. . Sheep —At Waverley 505 were sold : Ewes in lamb,; 9s/9d. ; t6<l2s 'old ewes, 4s; At iSt Hill-street 4 J4;' were penned : fat, . wethers, 11s lOd to 13s ; ewes in lamb, 8s 6d. Pigs— At! the Waverley yards I sold stores at ss'each ; sows, 16s. At the St Hill-street yards 9G made up the sale : gbod porkers from 18s to 35s ; the large sow, 69s ; smaller sorts, 10s to 15S— this description of stock were at lower rates. Hobses —I sold nearly all that- offered at no improvement in rvalues. - - " •
