WAIROA HIGHWAY BOARD.

A special meeting of the above Board, was held on Saturday, 28th instant. Tenders were received for Motuwhero Road as follows ;—W. Seaton, £1 15s 6d per chain ; J. Kirby, £197 10s ; Hughes and Davis,-£l.ss per chain ; James Hughes, £238 10s ; M. McLean, £1 9s 9d per chain ; J. Bowie, 14s 6d per chain for level parts, 35s for side cutting, and 10s each for culverts. Messrs Hughes and Davis’s tender was accepted. The following tenders were received for Moturoa Road ; —J Kirby, £29 10s ; W Solan, £2 19s per chain , Hughes and Davis, £2 10s per chain ; James Hughes, £2 per chain ; R Marshall, £l2 12s. Mr Marshall’s tender was accepted. The tenders for Motuwhero Bridge were from Messrs Davis and Koerstz, £62 19s; James Hughes, £4B; and the latter was accepted.
