PATEA—YESTERDAY.

(Before C. A. Wray, Esq, R.M.) THE COUNTY COUNCIL CASE. R. Horner v, G. Beamish.—This case, which was an application made by the Chairman of the Patea County Council for an order compelling the defendant to account for certain monies received by him as a servant of the Council, and which had been adjourned from last week, came on for hearing 5 ' yesterday. Mr Barton appeared for the plaintiff. The defendant asked for a further adjournment, as he had not been able to furnish a statement of the accounts he had received. An order was made by the Court for the defendant to furnish the statement by Tuesday next. A further charge of embezzling was remanded for eight days, defendant to find two sureties for £SO each. CIVIL CASE. Barron v. McCarthy, claim £2 4s for expenses as a witness in a case heard some time ago. Judgment was given for £1 6s, with costs 7s. :
