SERIOUS ACCIDENT TO A BOY.

A Marvellous Escape from Death. A very distressing accident occurred last evening to a lad named Paterson,- son of Mr Paterson, who resides on the main road about a mile, and a from townThe boy was riding with his foot in the stirrup leather and the horse from some unknown cause, took fright, and ran away, throwing the boy off. He was dragged a distance of half a mile on the road, and the animal then turned into a paddock, where it was subseqnedtly caught and the lad released. The boy was unconscious and greatly knocked about, but no hopes were broken. How he escaped death is a marvel, as in addition to the distance he was dragged on the road the horse crossed a bar on turning into the paddock. Had the lad’s head struck it, it would probably proved fatal. Dr Keating, who was sent for, attended the boy’s injuries, his skilful hands he is progres|rf|Pil*favorably as possible.
