DOMAIN BOARD.

A meeting of the above Board was held yesterday afternoon at -the old Borough Council’s chambers. Present ; Messrs Taplin (chairman), Tciincnt, Dale, and Dixon. MINUTES. The minutes of last meeting were read and confirmed. CORRESPONDENCE, A letter was read from Mr Thos. Kells, asking permission to place a canoe and cover in the Domain. A letter was read from the Secretary of the Palea Cricket Club, asking permission to use the Domain ground early in December, and make a charge for entrance - A letter was read from the Secretary of the Patea Caledonian Society, asking permission to use the Domain on Jan. Ist, 1883) for sports, and make a charge for entrance. A letter was read Mr Keys, requesting permission to transfer interest in lease to Mr W. Back. It was agreed, on the motion of Mr Taplin, seconded by Mr Tennent, “That the application of Mr T. Kells be granted.” With reference to the application of the Secretary of the Patea C.C., it was resolved that the Club may have the use of the pavilion and cricket ground, as asked for, to play 7 the match v. Auckland, for a charge of £3 Bs 6d ; and that the Board raise no objection to a charge being made at the gate. It was proposed by Mr Tennent, “That, in answer to the P.C.S. Secretary’s letter, they be informed that the Domain Board will allow them- the privileges asked for on the following terms, vis., a, charge of three guineas (£3 3s) for the use of the pavilion, and that they arc not to interfere or damage the turf cn tire cricketer’s pitch ; and that tire Board raise no objection to a charge being made at the gate.” Seconded by Mr Dixon, and carried. Mr Tennent proposed, Mr Taplin seconded, and it was carried : “ That in reply to (he letter from Messrs Keys and Back, they be informed that the Board agree to the transfer from the former to Mr Back on a proper transfer being prepared by the Board’s solicitor, and all expenses therewith paid by 7 applicants.” FINANCIAL. The following accounts were passed for payment ;— S. Taplin, for advances, £2 15s ; E. Mercer, £1 17s 6d ; Patea Mail, 4s 6/1 ; W. Dixon, 10s. The following motion, proposed by Mr Taplin, and seconded by Mr Dale, was carried “ That arrangements be made with the Bank for an overdraft of £ls, to pay outstanding accounts." There being no other business on hand, the Board adjourned,
