Holmes, Oamaru, is acknowledged to be the best sire in the colony, and has been awarded first honors wherever shown. Exchange’s dam, Rose, by Champion, was shown at Shag ■Valley in 1876, and awarded 2nd prize for the best brood mare on the ground, and in 1877 at Oamaru, was awarded the Gold Medal, beating a field.of ten, including the Hon.
