PATE A CRICKET CLUB.
At a committee meeting held on Saturday night, a challenge from Hawera was read and accepted, the match tq be played at Hawera next Saturday, at 10 o’clock shaap. The Domain Board are to be consulted regarding the use of the pavilion, and permission to charge at the gates dnrthe Auckland match, which will take place about the 9th Dec. The expenses will be be greae in connection with this match so that ; the general public will be asked in a small measure to contribute their quota’ towards this laudable object. The Secretary was instructed to get the grass cut in the Cricket ground. Very few subscriptions have been paid yet so that-according to the rules, it would be impossible to choose a team, but, however, the match committee have chosen the team who are to play against Hawera next Saturday, trusting that during the week their' subscriptions will be paid so as to avoid unpleasantness. The following are the Team : Messrs Jacob (captain), Jaeomb, Donegliue, Read, -Fulton, Newton. J. Hitching, C. Harden, Whyte, W. Harden, and Tenneni. Emergency men: Taplin, Dixon, Redgrave, and Rose.
