LONDON WOOL CIRCULAR. Messrs Jacoinb & Sou’s circular, dated London, March 24, says“ Since the elos c of public sales here on the 12th instant, theic have been but few transactions in this market; the Easter holidays and General Election in prospect during the next fortnight, coup’ed with the retardment of arrivals of Colonial wool ships by easterly winds, have all tended to check active business at present; meantime accounts from all quarters give a reassuring view of the prospects of our article ; manufacturers, wlrlc complaining that their trade does not show improvement proportionate to the recent rise in the value of the raw material, arc, we hear however, by no means eager to commit themselves to forward contracts on the basis of such values. Quotations for all coarse wools continue especially to rise,; at Antwerp, Liverpool; and Havre, South American, East Indian, and all low" Foreign descriptions; as well as Home-grown wools in the various markets, have lately shewn a hardening tendency, boding favourably for the kindred growths of Autsralasian produce. Colonial arrivals to this date arc at present much lighter than expected, but, with a slight change in the wind, we shall doubtless accumulate the intended 350,000 bales in time for the public sales which commence on the 20th April.
