(Per Press Agency.) WELLINGTON. _ April 18. The Hon. Mr Macandrew has given an 1 order to Mr Smith, of Taranaki, to make eight wheels for railway carriages out of Taranaki Iron Sand. Four of the wheels are for the Sydney Exhibition, and four for test purposes on New Zealand railways. Father Ryan, of the Marist Brothers,' now on' the West Coast, has offered, if the Natives will give a small endowment of land, to teach all the native youth on the - Coast. It is understood that the proposal is favorably regarded by the natives. NAPIER. April 18. The charges of conspiracy against Kinross, Sutton, and Worgan, brought by Mr Rees, M.H.R., on behalf of certain natives,has been discharged, no one appearing for the prosecution when the case was called on. OAMARU. April 18. At the sale of the Totara Estate, the ten' thousand acre paddock was first submitted,cut up into farms. The price realised Was £l3 per acre, and the highest £3l 10s per acre. The bulk of the land fetched £25 per acre.
