Chairman bo empowered to spend £lO towards tilling- up holes in Bedford-street. DEPUTATION. A deputation, consisting of the Rev. A Dascut, Messrs Torment and Jacornb, waited on the Board, and presented a petition from the Patca Cricket Club, asking that a lease of 21 years be granted by the Town Board of the ground reserved by the Government for cricket and athletic sports. After considerable discussion, it was resolved—That (ho committee appointed by the Patea Cricket Club, and a committee of the Board, consisting of Messrs Taplin. Southhy and 'Williams, meet together, and draw up conditions under which the sections set apart for cricket and athletic sports shall be leased, the same to be submitted to a public meeting called by the Board for that purpose. Mr Fish’s account of 12s, for painting and erecting notice-board, was ordered to be paid. The Secretary read the financial statement, which showed a balance at the bank of £29 11s. It was decided that a special meeting be held on Friday, ath of May, at 7 p.rn. The Board then adjourned till the first Monday in June.
