FIAT JUSTITIA.
(to the editor of the patea mail.) Sir, —It is with much dissatisfaction I have observed the utter carelessness exhibited by the “ Paterfamilias’ ” in the Kakaramea district on the subject of education, I cannot understand why none of them have not raised an agitation against the great injustice which has boon inflicted by the Fducation Board in establishing the half-time system in the Kakaramea school, when there are a sufficient number of scholars to demand a full-time one. There were at the time of commencing the half-time system 26 scholars on the books at Kakaramea, which are now left half the time to their own devices,' for the purpose of 'sending the master the' other half, to attend at Manutabi to take
Hiargo of twelve •at that place, threefourths of which are nothnuj 'more than babies, which are sent merely to get them out of their parents’ way. Under such circumstances, I maintain that it would ho Hindi better for all parties were a temale teacher appointed at Manntahi to take charge of the babies, and allow the master to carry on the full time school at Kakaramea. The £2O now allowed the master for travelling allowance, with a little more added out ot the abundance imder control of (he Hoard, would provide for a female teacher at a small additional expense, and thus meet the case in a jiroper way. Hoping the Board will take the hint, and thus perform one act ol justice during' their term ol; office, I am, &c., VOX.
