The Australian horses have again been taking away all the principal prizes in India, and amongst other achievements Not-on, a steeplechaser that was scut up to India not long since by Messrs Bahlock, and Co., won the BaUyffuujyrc Steeplechase, the Grand National of India. The Geelong correspondent of the Southern Mercury writes ; —I he course of true love did not run smoothly in St. Mary’s Church, Geelong, lately when a young lady, who was about to ho married was served with a summons in the church, while the preliminaries to the marriage contract wore being arranged in the vestry. The demand was made for part of the trousseau of the bride. The bridegroom was earnestly requested by the process server to give his I G U for the amount which oiler was politely but firmly declined. The marriage was then proceeded with, and duly celebrated without further interruption. ' Win. Mitty, of Melbourne, just married, bought his furniture with a forged cheque for £ls 10s, and spent his honeymoon in gaol.
