HAMUA MEETING The Hainua Women's Institute held their August meeting in the Hall, Mrs Hobbs presiding. The meeting opened*in the usual way, rnd after business bad been dealt with, Mrs Hobbs as delegate, gave an interesting report on tlic recent conference held at Gisborne. Two visitors welcomed to tlie meeting were Nurse Dorset and Nurse Barbus. Nurse Dorset gave an interesting talk on her nursing experiences in China, both before, and during the Japanese war on China, and alio on a visit to Japan. At the conclusion of her talk sbff displayed a number of beautiful articles she had brought back with her; and fold how they were made and where she had. acquired them Comp'titions were won as fellows: Mystery Parcel, Mrs Humphrey; Mrs Galvin’s Social Competition. Nurse Rarluss; Bed sox, Mrs Davies 1, Mrs Humphrey 2; Best Bloom. Mrs Hobbs 1. Mrs Davies 2. A vote of thanks to the hostess, Mrs Norman, closed the meeting.
