AIANGAMAIRE. A meetng of the MangamaJre Soldiers’ Farewell Committee was held on Thursday night- A social and dance in honour of Pte. A. Alurray who is on leave, will be given on Alonday night. As these functions are always well supported a rignt royal farewell is anticipated. Good floor and music is offered. FAREWELL AT MANGAT AINOKA L.A.C. Cpl. H. Angelini was the guest of honour at a dance at Mangatainoka on Thursday evening last. An enjoyable evening was spent by all in dancing to music played by Airs A. Tait and Mr I. Alerrie, with Mr C. Skilton as M.C. Air T. Kerrison made the usuai presentation from the residents of Alangatainoka and said Henry had spent all his life at ‘Toki 5 , and the Angelini family were all held in very high esfeem by the district residents. Air G. Kent spoke on behalf of the R.S.A., and assured Henry that the Association would look after him when he returned, Air T. Hanrahan then made a presentation from the Pahiatua /Patriotic ‘’committee and wished Henry the best of luck. Cpl. Angelini thanked everyone for their kindness and also took the opportunity of saying thank you to all the residents for their kindness to his mother who is in hospital. Musical honours and cheers were accord*eel the. guest of the evening. The hostesses were Mesdames J. Ross, Al. Hughes. E. Nind, I. MacPherson and L. Rusden. PAINFUL ACCIDENT. Mrs Futcher, while using a reap hook, had the misfortune to cut a finger, which necessitated having several stitches in it. After being attended to by Dr. Watson she was able to return to her home. ST. MARK’S GUILD. Airs Roes presided at the annual meeting of St. Mark’s Guild. Airs Ross was re-elected President and Airs L. Rusden. Treasurer for tlie ensuing year. The .usual donation is to be forwarded to the 'St. Barnaba’s Babies Home and Mrs Cheyno offered to take charge of the local soldiers’ parcels for a year. The mystery parcel was won by Mrs Gaskell. A birthday cake made and iced by the President was en joyed ; she wished the Guild another successful year. Mrs E. Meacheam is the hostess for April.
