BALLANCE SCHOOL PICNIC
AT CARNIVAL PARK.
Adults and children alike eirjoyed a perfect day’s outing at Carnival 1 aik yesterday, when, th© Ballanc© School annual picnic was held. The children received book prizes, chosen by Airs and Aliss V. Foster, and the opportunity was taken to honour Joeclyn Hunter and Alex Horn© who shared school dux honours last year. Jocelyn Hunter was also Dresented with the recently-won call club champronshipsJiip prize. Mr G. Polglase chairman of the school committee, thanked all who had given assistance and mentioned the Horn© Guard who had provided funds for events run by them. Tli© ladies dispensed a deJightfiiil afternoon tea and before leaving the school pupils did an excellent job of cleaning u,p the grounds.
