STR ANGERS BUY RESTRICTEI : LINES. Por some time past shopkeeper* i„ I ahiatua have noticed visitors from distant towns buying lines that are in short supply The most glaring example observed to date was the purchase of a packing case by a stranger who expressed her intention to send it to Wellington, filled with items obtainable here but uot in the city -Pahiatua shopkeepers say thev are well aware of what they term panic buying in strange towns but point out that non-customers are unlikely to obtain items sucli as tapioca, sago, nee or golden syrup. Every household in the district must be a customer at one or other shop and will obtain whatever supplies unavailable but any deliberate attempt likely to rob Pahiutua as a community, of vital supplies will nncou liter refusal: that is the real home-tom: spirit combined with a sense of fairplay.
