Jan. 1 Two Army men from Dunedin lost their lives through being crushed by a military lorry against a jxist o>u . stone bridge near Waiwara, on Saturday. The victims were:— 2nd-Lt. James Robert Hodgson, single, aged 22, Macandrew Road. Staff-Sgt. James Edward Murdoch, married, aged 33, Dunedin. Both men were standing on the
bridge when an Army convoy approached. One lorry swerved, crushing the men agairat the post. Roth men died in Balclutha Hospital,
