BIG DROP IN AUSTRALIA

Registrations of automobiles in Australia show' that, sinee the war began in 1939. the number of oars ill commission throughout the Commonwealth has decreased bv 111,072 units from 559.356 to 448.284. Registrations of commercial motor vehicles have only fallen off by 8208 units, from 260.270 to 2-52,062. Mo-tor-cycles dropped from 77,894 to 49,432, a decrease of 28,462 units. All told. 147,742 automobiles have been deregistered in Australia since June 1939 The latest registration figures are exclusive of automobiles engaged in defence services
