THREE SHIPS DAILY

PRODUCED IN AMERICA. United Press Assn.—By ElectricTelegraj >b.—Copyright WASHINGTON, October 1. The Maritime Commission announced that American shipyards reached their goal of three ships a day for September. During the month 93 new cargo ships were delivered. The commission describes this as the outstanding production in world history. The American war production chief, Mr Nelson, described United States arms production in September as still “spotty’’ and no better than August’s, which was 14 per cent, below forecast. He said the food situation was good and unlikely to become acute in the future.
