BRITAIN'S WAR PRODUCTION

NEW YORK, October 3. “At this moment Britain’s war production per head of population is the greatest of any nation,” Lord Halifax told the Foreign Policy Association. “Britain has outmatched German chemists and her engineers have held their own on aircraft design and also led in radio location.” Instancing the production speedup, h.e quoted' that two and a half man-hours were once necessary to produce a machine-gun component. Now the work is 'completed in six minutes. Bombers ar© being built ;n one-third of the former time.
“Anglo-American production will be still rising when Germany’s begins to sag, and next spring, Germany will have to choose between her milita.ry and industrial efforts. Th© race is still on and the finish a long way off, but Germany has lost her start.
