PARCELS FOR SOLDIERS. The monthly meeting of th,. Alfredton Women’s Institute was held on Saturday afternoon at the residence of Mrs Payne. Mrs Hull presided over a very small attendance of members. The afternoon was spent in packing parcels for the soldiers overseas It was decided to raffle the hirtndav cake and the funds to go wards Xmas parcels for the soldiers. Mrs Seymour was asked to make the cake and Mrs Dickens to ice and decorate it. Competitions resulted as follows: Pullover, Mrs Dow 1 ; scarves, Mrs E. McUean 1,2. and 3; flying jersey. Mrs Low 1; best bloom, Mrs Low 1 ; a tin. of shortbread, Mrs Low I. Mrs G. Napier 2
