DAME NELLIE MELBA SCHOLARSHIP

The elimination contest for the Dame Nellie Melba Scholarship will be sponsored this year by the Wellington Competitions Society and will take place in conjunction with the 25th annual festival from August 22 to September 5. “We are very gratified to have been entrusted with this job,” stated the president, Mill. J. Constable, “and we feel also that it is a piece of Tuck for us that Mr Anderson Tyrer is compelled by circumstances to be in New Zealand and will be available to adjudicate in vocal and instrumental sections. His associate will be Madame BettsVincent.” The elocution adjudicator will he Mr W. Russell Wood, of Dunedin, and the dancing adjudicator Miss l.orna McAffer, of Palmerston North.
