DAMA6E TO MANY HOUSES FIRES DEALT WITH SPEEDILY NUMBER OF INCENDIARIES DROPPED. United Press Assn.—By Electric T**legraoh —-Copyright. LONDON. February 2(». An Air Ministry communique states that during the early hours of last night enemy aircraft attacked Swansea in South Wales. B« mbs damaged a considerable number ot houses and business premises, but the incendiaries which were dropped wer© dealt with very promptly. A number of fires wen started, but all been extinguished early this morning. A number ol persons were killed.
A short attack was made on London, causing some damage but few casualties.
In several other parts of England and at one point in eastern Scotland raiders caused some damage . but no large* casualties. Moat of these casualties were at a point in the Home Counties. All the raids had finished soon after midnight. An earlier communique issued by the Air Ministry and the Ministry of Home Security stated that there was a small amount of enemy activity yesterday afternoon, mainly over Yorkshire and Lincolnshire. Some bombs were dropped, bnt reports indicated that little damage and few casualties were caused.
