RUMANIA CEDES BESSARABIA TO RUSSIA

RUSSIAN PLANES FIRED ON RESTITUTION DEMANDED BY MOLOTOV. (Received 9.25 a.m.) United Press Assn.—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright. NEW YORK, June 27. The Associated Press of America’s Bucharest correspondent reports that the Rumanian Crand Council has decided to accede to the Soviet ultimatum to cede Bessarabia and Northern Bukovina. The ultimatum is reported to empire at 8 p.m. today. The Associated Press of America reported from Cernauti that four Russian planes were fired on. one was shot down; others bombed a village. BUCHAREST, June 27. The Rumanian Government has decided to yield, but has pleaded for time and has ordered precautionary mobilisation. ROME, June 27. The Stefani Agency reports from Bucharest that M. Molotov has demanded restitution of Bessarabia and cession of northern Bukovina. LONDON, June 27. It is officially reported from Bucharest that Rumania has accepted the Soviet ultimatum for the cession of Bessarabia and Northern Bukovina. RUSSIAN TROOPS ENTER BESSARABIA. (Received 10.50 a.m.) LONDON. June 27. A Budapest message states that Cabinet is discussing events in Rumania. Russian troops arc marching into Bessarabia after Rumania's acceptance of the Soviet ultimatum. The Associated Press of America’s Bucharest correspondent says that it is officially learned that the Rumanian army is concentrating on Transylvania near the Hungarian Irontier. Mr Kennedy in adv.sing Americans to evacuate, declared that the liner Washington was most likely to be the last American vessel to come to Britain until after the war. TROOPS. (Received 11.40 a.m.) The Bucharest correspondent of the 11 rlited American Press state©, that foreign military attaches have received reports that huge squadrons of Russian warplanes flew over Bessarabia and Bukovina. There are heavy concentrations of Russian troops, tanks and artillery along the Dniester River; and the old PolishRumanian frontier. The Rumanian War Ministry has issued a n order tantamount to general mobilisation it is learned that Russia hag also demanded control powers over Galati and Praila which will permit Russia to dominate Dauubian navi-
gation. Berlin sources declare that Germany is “disinterested” in the situa tion.
