THE ANNUAL MEETING

ELECTION OF OFFICERS

Airs \Y. F. Day presided over the annual meeting of the Women’s Division of the f armers’ Union wlucn was held in the County Council room recently. Alter the creed had been lead wiie balance-sheet presented by the treasurer, Airs J. A. Gibson, was read and adopted, and the secretary Mrs W. D. Harris, presented the annual report. (This will be published later). Airs W. Gilbert took the opportunity to band the president, Mrs AY. F. Day, a lovely bouquet of pink carnations and maidenhair fern, and v oiced the apprt ciation of members of Mrs Day’s excellent leadership. The election of officers resulted as follows:—President, Mrs W. F. Day - vice-presidents, Air s W. Gilbert, Airs J. D. Piper. A!r s W E. C. Tylee, Mrs R. A. Wilson; housekeepersecretary and treasurer. Airs J. A. Gibson : recording secretary. Airs YV. 1). Harris; committee. Alesdames W. Fulton (Kohinui), L. Holdaway, J Bremner and Aliss Gibson (JBallance), Alesdames C. Smith and J. Aliller (Konini). W. Fergus (Ruawbata). F. W*. Ward (Alangatainoka), H. Cornelius (Mangahao), F. W. Ebbett (Alakomako). H. Kelsey (Pori), Geo. Russell and David Crewe (Pahiatua). Advisory members: Airs AV. Gilbert and Aliss Whitmore Searle. Airs Day took the opportunity to read the Dominion President’s monthly message. Alls Day also requested that all cases of illness of members should be reported to her or to a committee member. At present there were two members very ill and the secretary was instructed to write letters of sympathy to them. It was decided to hold the birthday party* in June. Afternoon tea brought a pleasant afternoon to a close
