PAHIATUA RACING CLUB
NEXT YEAR’S DATES APPLIED FOR.
A meeting of the stewards of the Pahiatua Racing Club was held in Mr J. C. Swainson’s office last night. The president (Mr D. Kelly) was in the chair, and there were present Messrs E. H. Lett. J. W. Leech, C. Hodgins, S. T. Tinney, P. J. C. Lloyd, C. Connell, R. J. Smith, E. L. Harvey and I. Taylor. An apology was received from Mr N. Bicknell. A letter was read from Indicators, Ltd., suggesting the installation of an electric totalisator, but after some discussion it was decided to do nothing about the matter in the meantime.
The dates for the next race meeting were discussed, and it was decided to apply for Friday and Saturday, 26tli and 27th January, 1940, provided that the Wellington meeting finishes oil the previous Monday (January 22nd-.
The Ground and Building Committee were instructed to go into the necessary work and improvements to be carried out on the course during the present year and make a report to the Finance Committee, and afterwards to the stewards.
