WEATHER FORECAST

GENERAL SITUATION A deep depression passed rapidly across the South Island last night and an anti-cyclone is now advancing from south eastern Australia on to the Tasman Sea. Forecast: Strong southerly winds reaching gale force in a few exposed positions but gradually decreasing. Weather cloudy to overcast with some scattered light rain at fi-st east of the ranges but soon improving. Temperatures cool. Seas rough but decreasing by to-morrow.
